  • Leading the annual fundraising campaign to raise funds from members to operate First Parish.  Fundraising goal for this year is $710,000.

  • Policy board for First Parish, is the governing board of First Parish and is responsible for providing leadership and vision, creating policies, and managing the affairs of First Parish in service to its mission

  • Creates and manages policies for church congregation of over 400 members

Religious Education (RE), RE Chair, 2013 – 2016

  • Committee Member, 2008 – 2016
  • Support RE director to enlist an all volunteer staff for Sunday Morning RE classes and evening programs for middle and high school students
  • The RE program had an average of 150 children preschool – 6th grade, 40 in middle school program, and 50 in the high school Youth Group.

AVIOS (Advanced Voice Input Output Society)

  • The Applied Voice Input Output Society (AVIOS) is a not-for-profit industry organization founded in 1981 with the goals of informing, educating, and providing resources to developers and designers of new and changing speech and natural language technologies. AVIOS endeavors to create linkages between users, developers, and researchers to advance speech and multimodal technology with a long tradition of conferences and varied workshops around the country.
  • The central activity is to sponsor the annual conference, Conversational Interactions. (https://www.conversationalinteraction.com)
  • Led the board through decisions and whether and how to hold our annual conference
  • Helped in the pivot to on on-line conference in 2021

Arlington Education Foundation (AEF)

  • Raise $600,000 in response to a significant deficit in the school budget
  • Funds raised restored teachers in music, art, library, world languages at all levels, elementary – high school
AEF Technology Initiative fundraising campaign, Chair, 2014-15
  • Raised $106,000 for HS Mobile workstations, HS Digital arts imaging studio, MS computer science and engineering lab
